Chelsey came to yoga a few years after having her last child. The demands and unknowns of mothering four children caused her to shut down and disconnect from her feelings, her children and herself in general. As a recovering control freak who began to realize she couldn't control anything, she felt as though she was moving through her life constantly terrified. On a whim, Chelsey started going to yoga classes and instantly knew that she had found what she didn't know she was looking for. Yoga helped her rediscover the joy, love and connection that is always available to her.
Chelsey's 200 hour teacher training was completed at re:form YOGA under the guidance of Trevor Hawkins and Lindsay Russo, and focused on the therapeutic benefits of the breath and the idea that the yoga practice can be adapted to meet the yoga practitioner exactly where they are. Her 300 hour advanced teacher training was completed in San Francisco with Jason Crandell, who is known worldwide for his comprehensive knowledge of alignment, anatomy and sequencing.
She truly sees yoga as pathway to greater peace and contentment. For her, it provides a place to leave her mind games at the door, to be still and to remember who she is. Studying herself on her mat reminds her to always see the blessings in trials, her innate divinity and the freedom that comes from letting go.
